What is the opportunity?

To provide expert advice based on clients’ long-term home financing needs, including mortgages and creditor insurance, while working collaboratively with other RBC partners to meet clients’ full suite of financial needs.

Your ability to develop relationships with both internal and external partners is crucial to your success, particularly within the community and among realtors, lawyers, developers, and other Centers of Influence.

You will represent RBC within the community, area, and market by building RBC’s presence and sourcing new business opportunities. You will share common goals, purpose, vision, and values with other RBC partners, building relationships and encouraging collaboration across all roles.

What will you do?

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the market, industry, and clients through discovery conversations, allowing you to present home financing advice and solutions that directly address clients’ financial needs.

  • Apply an entrepreneurial mindset to acquire new mortgage clients, grow RBC’s mortgage financing portfolio, and achieve strong business performance.

  • Develop and nurture relationships with key external partners and Centers of Influence to establish referral opportunities and provide value-added expertise to your clients.

  • Ensure high-quality credit applications and the successful onboarding of every mortgage client, working with partners to bring all of RBC to the client.

  • Plan and actively participate in market, community, and area events and business development activities to expand and strengthen RBC’s brand and reputation.

  • Acquire mortgage clients through leads, advice events, and referrals, building a robust pipeline of mortgage business while proactively developing Centers of Influence relationships.

  • Successfully drive sales results through proper planning and effective practice management routines.

  • Exercise due diligence to ensure compliance with RBC, industry, and legal standards, following all procedures relating to identification, verification, fraud, and anti-money laundering.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • A demonstrated passion for delivering an exceptional client experience and providing advice and solutions that meet clients’ needs.

  • Solid knowledge of the real estate market and its competitors.

  • A minimum of two years of credit experience, combined with strong networking capabilities to generate referrals, attract new clients, and create increased opportunities.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work independently, remain mobile, and work flexible hours, including weekends.

  • A university degree in Business, Finance, Banking, or equivalent qualifications. Consideration will also be given to individuals currently pursuing a degree.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
