Aqua Adventures Bonaire is looking for an experienced, responsible and guest-oriented Captain to lead the operation of our power catamaran Sea Breeze and our company dinghy/tender.

We operate sightseeing tours, snorkeling excursions, water taxi services and private charters around Bonaire. Our guests include cruise passengers, stay-over visitors and private charter groups. We are not simply looking for someone who can operate a boat; we need a professional Captain who takes ownership of the vessels, leads the crew, protects safety standards and understands hospitality.

Your role

• Safely navigate and operate Sea Breeze and take operational command of the vessel and crew.

• Maintain overall operational responsibility for the company dinghy/tender and its 15 HP outboard engine.

• Ensure the safety, comfort and professional treatment of passengers and crew.

• Conduct or supervise pre-departure checks, safety briefings and vessel readiness.

• Monitor weather, sea conditions and operational risks, and delay, modify or cancel operations when safety requires it.

• Train, supervise and guide crew members, and ensure professional execution of tours and private charters.

• Monitor vessel condition, cleanliness, maintenance needs, inventory and operational supplies.

• Keep the dinghy at Nautica Marina safe, clean, orderly and professionally presented at all times.

• Report technical issues, incidents and significant operational matters promptly to management.

What we are looking for

• Appropriate maritime qualifications for commercial operation in Bonaire.

• Strong boat-handling, docking and navigation skills; power-catamaran experience is an advantage.

• Commercial passenger vessel, charter or excursion experience strongly preferred.

• Strong safety awareness, emergency-response competence and practical technical understanding.

• Leadership ability, reliability, discipline and calm decision-making under pressure.

• Professional English; Dutch, Papiamentu and/or Spanish are an advantage.

• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, public holidays, cruise-ship days and irregular hours.

Safety first

The Captain has the authority and responsibility to delay, modify or cancel an operation whenever weather, sea conditions, vessel condition or other circumstances make safe operation impossible. Commercial considerations never override safety.
